How to Check SGB Current Value

The current value of an SGB depends on:

• Number of SGB units (grams) held
• Latest gold price per gram
• Issue price (interest is paid separately)

Formula:
Current Value = Units × Latest Gold Price

Example

If you hold 20 grams of SGB and today’s gold price is ₹6,500 per gram:

Current Value: 20 × 6,500 = ₹1,30,000

• Interest (2.5% p.a.) is paid separately
• Capital gains at maturity are tax-free
• Market price on exchange may differ slightly
